Great....a full house. You have booked it in with Geoff haven't you? Look forward to seeing everyone on the day.

Proper triple black torque. (Remapped)

Popped into Hilltop today to justify a re-map, and on the rollers it went.
After a run Geoff had a fettle and returned 105.53 bhp and 82.14 ft/ib of very usable torque :D:D:D , well happy with the results so won't be bothering with headers/cans .
It was running uber lean ,now running at full fat mixture as it should be and pulls like a fuckin train and some :bounce1
Thanks again Geoff proper job with full results, the plaice in turkey I'm going to is Gullok !! So happy holidays yours and mine.
Enjoy your day tomorrow entertaining that bunch of tossers :blast :thumb
Have you posted that question yet or have you manned up :D:D

I'm really looking forward to getting this done on Saturday. I have taken Geoff's advice and replaced the K&N filter I had with an OEM paper filter. Have also removed the Wunderlich Fuel Controller and reinstalled an accelerator module which will come off on the day. This just leaves the system with Remus headers and Akro can. Just one question for the experts - baffle in or out on the can? Will this make any difference to the remap that Geoff's going to do? I ask because whenever I have taken the baffle out the engine tends to stall a lot at low revs and idle. I also find the noise a bit of a pain on long distances - its just right for my ears with the baffle in.

So, will it make any difference as far as the fueling map is concerned whether the baffle is in or out on the Akro?

If its in now, leave it in. If you ask him, Geoff will do a run with it removed, so you will know what the difference is, I'd guess at a bit more go with it out.

I don't understand! Why did Geoff suggest taking the K&N out and replacing it with an OEM? :nenau

I have no idea why and maybe I should have probed Geoff a bit further on that. I fitted one in the first place in my long running saga of trying to improve the low speed pick up which has bugged me ever since I had the bike. The K&N was fitted alongside the Wunderlich Fuel Controller which made a great difference to the fueling and response but one of the main reasons for getting the remap is so I can get rid of the fuel controller. Having spent a lot of money trying to sort the issue out over the years I'm going back to simplicity and having the remap done which should sort it for good. Having done this I don't really mind if it has a K&N or not unless of course there is an obvious advantage either way.

I can understand getting rid of the controller (no point in doubling up etc) but for the life of me can't understand the K&N, If anything I would have thought it would be more of a bonus than a minus.

Either way, being a tightarse and not having had one that long, unless it will severely hobble the system I'm not even going to mention it and leave it in (which is what I would have done if I hadn't seen your post).

I will probably bring mine up with me just in case as its not difficult to switch.

A couple of Qus - Did you put new plugs in? What miles on yours? :thumb

I asked Geoff the same question on Friday about k & n's, coz ive got one sat ere ready to go and was gonna fit it before the remap, now what he told me I had actually heard of years ago, but Geoff told me in more detail, basically the filter medium used by k&n used to be asbestos based, but for obvious reasons they stopped using that, so they now use a fibreglass matting based medium, which is obviously then soaked with filter oil, but over time the matting breaks down and gets sucked into the engine also along with oily deposits from the filter oil:blast, so I decided not to bother, oem filter is the way to go me thinks:thumb2

As for the re-map, what can I say that aint been sed already:D, it transforms the bike, the pick up is instant, and the power delivery is so smooth, it flies to the ton no problem, just pulls like a train:D

nice one Geoff, and have a nice holiday:thumb

put em in after:thumby:, ive just done mine yesterday, Geoff says its worth changing em. due to the lean running of the bike, obviously this is then furthered by akra cans, de-cats etc., but obviously after the map it'll all be spot on fuel/air wise:thumby:

I think Geoff bases it on, in his experience
A) The K & N giving no performance gain &
B) It doesn't filter terrifically well, from an engine protection point of view.

Ask him; he's not one to hold back on his views.:thumb2
