My lad's new laptop....I want to get rid of the bundled Norton AV.

Anyone got a link/advice re the latest removal tool ?

TIA......:)

It's a few years since I did it but couldn't find anything that worked.

In the end I backed uo the registry and then opened regedit and deleted every single line that included the words Norton or Symentec. That worked.

Symantec used to have a removal tool on their website. Worked ok.

Is Norton not good? keeps coming up that mine is due for renewal?

their is a removal tool on the website - works ok.
But the latest norton is ok - and if you hunt on net - google norton discount vouchers - norton outlet - I ended up paying 12gbp for a 3 machine licence!! and it works well - and not too resource hungry

tell 'em to keep looking.

waste of money. there's plenty of free options that are more than adequate.

....and that’s why we don’t want Norton.....:thumb2

Many thanks for all the replies and advice. Trying to remove it from the ‘uninstall’ programme in control panel, simply didn’t work, but the removal tool from Symantec did.....went through this a couple of years ago and for some reason it was much more difficult.

As said, lots of good free stuff from the banks and BT etc.

Thank you......:)
