I need to remove the exhaust to fit my pannier racks. According to the instructions I simply remove a few bolts and slip it off, is it really that simple or should I get the garage to do it. What could go wrong?

Thanks

It's straight forwards other than the can will have an 'interference fit' with the header and may need twisting and some persuading to part. Mine was easy to do.

Having to remove the exhaust to fit pannier racks doesn't sound right.

If you have to remove it to fit the racks, how does it go back once the rack's fitted :nenau

Just stick an old towel over the silencer so you don't ding or scratch it.

Honestly, I had to re-read the bit about should I take it to a dealer :)

I had to remove the exhaust to fit my givi racks no problems in doing so tho I do still find some of these posts worrying in the sense that it's Nutts and bolts that hold these bikes together not witch craft ! people posting how do I remove a wheel change a bulb what torque setting should I use !!! really didn't you ever take apart every push bike you were ever bought or strip every toy just to see what makes it tick just for the sake of it.? bikes are built by machines and ridden by monkeys just find a tool that fits and keep removing things till the bit you want of is in your hands :-)

The exhaust has to come off because one of the parts which is a fixing bracket for the rack fits to the foot pegs and if you don't remove the exhaust you can't get access to the bolts.

These questions get asked because not everyone strips down mechanical things in their youth. How many people reading would need advice on cooking (to cooks that is a dumb question.... Get my drift) or need advice on ironing or washing certain types of clothes

Forums work their best when people are helpful and big thanks to those who posted helpful replies
