I have just fitted Remus headers with titanium can and I have a couple of questions for those who have gone before.

Is it usual to have trouble getting the system to line up?

On mine the centre hanger will not line up straight and the rubber avm is constantly twisted slightly and therefore under pressure. Also, I cannot get the bracket on the can to lay parallel with the bracket on the frame - I had trouble making the can free on its rubber mount.

I have removed the baffle (slightly louder, but a more acceptable sound). In the first 300 miles I have seen popping and back fires on over-run and occaisionally on up changes. I was very careful during fitting but did not use any sealer. I can detect a very small gas leak at the joint in the y piece. Also, the backfires are randon i.e. the're not always there and begin suddenly sometimes after a stop.

It seems to me that the motor runs oddly since installation. Sometimes idling cleanly and picking up straight off and then suddenly running roughly and fluffing at even gentle throttle openings.

So, has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms and has anyone any advice?

I've had my remus system on the 1200 for a year now. Fitting was a little fiddly, you need to have the whole system on the bike very loose then start to line things up.

Use an exhaust sealing compound on the joints or they will leak.
Popping and banging on over run not to much of a problem once the system is sealed.
