Had the replacement starter relay did before I collected my r1300 gs.. my r1300 gs is mid 2024 build date.. it as the revised model relay which looks like the relay that was on the r1250 gs.. Recently read on here a member said he had the new revised starter relay fitted at the first service but then had another recall for another revised starter relay.. how do we know if we have the most up to date starter relay? could ask the dealer but most likely will say it's already as the updated starter relay..

I'm no expert on this & don't own a 1300 but I was watching a u tube video the other day and the chap explained all a bout his numerous relay replacements.
The out come was BMW have gone back to the version that was fitted to the 1250 so it sounds like you have the latest update on the starter relay .

That might have been me

I had a replacement at the first service and now I’ve got a letter to tell me I need a second replacement

If you’ve got a conventional electro mechanical relay fitted it’s the latest one (yes it’s older technology but it’s proven)

I'm sure it's the old proven starter relay fitted now.. as it looks the same with the same markings on as this clip shows at 8:54 .. think this starter relay is the original relay used on the r1250 gs/gsa models

That is what I was told. We are now on the 1250 version, and could be the 3rd version if you have an early 1300.

I wonder if they could fit the 1250 engine while they're at it 🤔

Got my recall letter today too some ot the wording is a bit scary 🫣

Mine is the garage which is beneath my daughter's bedroom !!
Insurance would also be invalid if I left it outside.

I just got the letter yesterday and also noticed the warning about not parking it inside or near a building. Given mine actually did catch fire back in February I asked the dealer today how exactly I’m supposed to comply with that while also needing to keep it garaged at home. His response was that if it did burn down the garage, house and kill everyone inside that my insurance wouldn’t be likely to use this as a reason to wriggle out of it…..

That’s comforting especially since they can’t do it until the 23rd December

Morning, the current relay that should be fitted is as per the 1250. Latest recall is for the right hand side switch gear. turns out my diagnosis when i broke down in France was correct.
