So whatever happened to the paint job, do you still have the beast?

the Tank Story just continues...

the finished bike looks awesome and its a credit to you. ignore the critics as anyone who's undertaken a project like this knows its imposible to be 100% bang on after all the original was only 95% original by the end of the race
i know theres bits on Camille that arn't quite right but the fact is to get them exact is nearly imposible. be proud in what you've achieved its a stunning bike and gaston would be proud of what you've done![]()
Syco, do not get me wrong, I am pleased with the result, just certain things I would like to improve...and it might come as a surprise...the real deal tank might end up in my hands...so then the "Syco Tank" might come up for sale again, and I will be at your door for another "Marlboro Jobbie", Like another challenge Syco ? Stay tuned !
I am sentimental, one of these days will take the bike to the grave of Gaston here in Belgium, and show him...In August Syco, we can do this pilgrimage together...when you are over with Camille, OK ? Emille, Gastons mechanic lives in the village, he was with Gaston in the 84 and 85 Dakar...so if you want a first appraisal...
Slowkitty from Singapore: These Bottles are 80Ties Acerbis, obsolete for more then 20 years now. I did look for months on the Internet to find 2 reds...one came as NOS from USA, the other was collecting dust in Belgium. I have 2 White Bottles (at HPN they still got couple in stock, so I bought them...), but one of these will be used to bribe Syco for "yet another Marlboro sprayjob"...These bottles are hence getting rare...went to Acerbis in Bergamo Italy, last bottles left the factory in the mid 90ties...
With the camping weekend as it clashes with one of Ross's racing weekends. He's doing really well this year and with all the support we're getting it would be wrong to miss a race to go camping no matter how special. I may just try to bring her over on another weekend just so we can get the two bikes together.
I'm sorry but as far as Ross's racing goes this year is proving to be the start of something very special.
