I'm neurotic about being hit by a golf ball when I go that route. What a bonkers idea to run a public road through the middle of a golf course, or rather build a golf course on both sides of a road. The route off the A7, through innerliethen and st Mary's loch is one of my favourites
There's another one I've used a few times is almost opposite the cafe. It takes you over the hills to Newcastleton. Some nice rides with good views, and quiet roads. The route off the A7, through innerliethen and st Mary's loch is one of my favourites
We’ve ridden that road a few times. We’ve also (and will be in July) used the cafe for breakfast on trips around Scotland. There's another one I've used a few times is almost opposite the cafe. It takes you over the hills to Newcastleton. Some nice rides with good views, and quiet roads.
The B709. All the way from Langholm to just short of Embra. A GS road if ever there was one. We’ve ridden that road a few times. We’ve also (and will be in July) used the cafe for breakfast on trips around Scotland.

Resurfaced last year, it was terrible for pot holes, then after Newcastleton the B6399 past Hermitage Castle to Hawick is another good road .One of my faves, past the monument
The Rumblin Tum is a nice cafe on the main street, and there's a smaller one just a few doors away. Often stop there for lunch or morning coffee on my way back from Auld Reekie.Decent place for a nice breakfast up there please. In or around Moffat.
Cracking breakfast in the Famous Star Hotel....the one your staying in.Decent place for a nice breakfast up there please. In or around Moffat.

ladies, ladies??I often stop for lunch there (not had the pies though) it's part of my regular route to Edinburgh, via Innerleithen and Herriot. Call in at Samye Ling Tibetan temple for a brew, loads of hippy chicks hanging out. I stopped off one winter riding up and had an invite to stop over with two young ladies (I was younger, slimmer and fitter back then)....I didn't due to a pressing engagement, but knowing my luck they would have been ladyboys or serial killers![]()
