Glad you are ok Stan.
Hope everyone else had fun.
At least one of us made it all the way to the end.
The conditions
were a bit shitty in places but they were also very easy to read, the leaves and polished patches being obvious places to avoid/slow for.
I only got the traction control to activate once (the only "warning" I had) today (dicking around over the top somewhere - I had it turned off most of the time so I could get the front up over crests

) so it can't have been that bad.
Harsh throttle and brakes is only gonna end in tears and won't get you there any faster anyhow...
Smooth is slide free, and ultimately faster anyhow....
It's not a race tho guys, just take it steady on the obviously shitty bits. There's no need to be getting slides, and certainly no need to lay your coat down (whilst still wearing it) in a gentleman like manner in front of the lady at the back.
Marking junctions...
No names no pack drill, so don't go apologising, just
please get it right next time.
It makes the day run much smoother, and also means I don't spend the last shreds of daylight riding around in circles trying to locate everyone as they spread across the Yorks countryside because the route isn't getting marked.
It's really quite simple:
When the route turns, 2nd bike on the road (i.e. the bike directly behind the leader) STOPS in sight of the junction approach and indicates the direction of travel to the bikes behind.
The marker stays until ALL the bikes on the ride have passed (not one, or half of the bikes) except the nominated rear maker who they can move off in front of if safe to do so.
Like I say, I don't want apologies, just
please get it right next time.

I hope everyone made it home safe and sound.
