Rideout : 25th October - Yorks Moors back roads.

Hmm.. I wonder if Adam A will be taking his panniers with him on this ride to help carry his ego?? LOL. Only joking :D

Relax Adam.. I was joking.. I'm sure everyone going will have great time with u leading.. :comfort

Indeed you were, by deliberately misinterpreting what was written. I was simply making sure there was no misunderstanding for others.:thumb2

hope it's ok if I tag along, its my first time greenlaning, but I'll do my own thing if I'm holding you up.

Anyone else fancy it? Forecast looks ok. :)

look forward to seeing you, through the rain:rolleyes:

What a bunch of cnuts the Met Office are. Between me posting at 18:00 last night and now the forecast has gone from no rain at all in eastern yorks to pishing it down. Forecast my arse. Any fool can stick their head out of the office window and see what it's doing NOW.

Oh well wet roads it is.:thumb2

ouch

:blast well guys and gals got home in one piece thank to sooty:bow
don't feel too bad just a little stiffness approaching ! but we can all suffer from that?

the roads were really slippery, i think we all had warnings on some of the bends and for me some of the straights:P

Thanks for organising Adam and Lisa:clap hope the next one has better weather:rolleyes:

Nice to meet you all:thumb2

Richie:beerjug:

Many thanks Adam and Lisa for organising it:thumb

6 hardcore GS'ers (including Adam & Lisa) stuck it out till just about the end:augie

It was wet...............very wet................. but good fun:D

My tyres stuck like the proverbial to a blanket and the Kalahari GS was superb

One ride I really enjoyed and did some new roads and re-visited some old ones

Glad you are ok Stan.:thumb2

Hope everyone else had fun.

At least one of us made it all the way to the end. :augie

The conditions were a bit shitty in places but they were also very easy to read, the leaves and polished patches being obvious places to avoid/slow for.
I only got the traction control to activate once (the only "warning" I had) today (dicking around over the top somewhere - I had it turned off most of the time so I could get the front up over crests;)) so it can't have been that bad.
Harsh throttle and brakes is only gonna end in tears and won't get you there any faster anyhow...
Smooth is slide free, and ultimately faster anyhow....

It's not a race tho guys, just take it steady on the obviously shitty bits. There's no need to be getting slides, and certainly no need to lay your coat down (whilst still wearing it) in a gentleman like manner in front of the lady at the back.:blast

Marking junctions...
No names no pack drill, so don't go apologising, just please get it right next time.
It makes the day run much smoother, and also means I don't spend the last shreds of daylight riding around in circles trying to locate everyone as they spread across the Yorks countryside because the route isn't getting marked.

It's really quite simple:
When the route turns, 2nd bike on the road (i.e. the bike directly behind the leader) STOPS in sight of the junction approach and indicates the direction of travel to the bikes behind.
The marker stays until ALL the bikes on the ride have passed (not one, or half of the bikes) except the nominated rear maker who they can move off in front of if safe to do so.

Like I say, I don't want apologies, just please get it right next time.:)
I hope everyone made it home safe and sound.
