Riding kit

my 2 pence

i have a rallye2 suit.
i find in the heavy rain very dissapointing.
Get a wet ass as water runs down between outer and inner water proof membrain and puddles on the seat then . Also problem is trousers will no t fit comfortably around bmw enduro boot so have to go inside . Although i think boots are relatively rain/water resistant water still enters boot via void between layers, down leg into boot ..

Best clothing i find in rain is leathers or kevlar jeans over thermals. thermal t shirt polo jumper leather ,tight fitting goretex jacket. Cheap elastacated water proof pants 5 pounds from army surplus carried and worn in rain and high vis loose fitting jacket. 100% water proof in my oppinion .

dont have to worry about getting 600 pound worth of bmw gear wet or oily f.e in a breakdown . Easy to remove water proofs at destination and look normal when in public not like a tw*t.

Don't get me wrong ralle2 and 3 brilliant in dry and hot conditions . Can vouch for this as ridden in oz in 37 degrees. Just ride in jocks and socks only.

Having been down the road at 60mph in my twat suit I can vouch for its protection which isn't to say a suit costing half the price wouldn't have performed just as well......

...thing is I wouldn't want to take the risk to find out it didn't

This is the reason thats always made me spend a decent amount on kit. The only quality brand I've been properly disappointed with was Dainese - the leathers are great but my textile kit was neither warm nor waterproof. Having said that I haven't been off in a long time, so can't comment on how it would have held up in a slide down the road.

Rlly jackts are good for warm or hot climits, (don't help spelling though!) as they have lots of vents and having ridden through very hot places these qare the best. But, for european (ours!) rukka take some beatin and the original post abve hits th nail on the head it works well and if you drop it new trousers for a fiver you can't go wrong. Trouble with modern Rukka not all the pockets are waterproof, my old (14years) Rukka jacket has neoprene lined outside pockets and are completly waterproof, but the more recent jacktes the outside pockets are not. I hope to be corrected on this as my current Rukka is a few years old now.
