Nonsense.

Any profit is the sellers, it's not a share the previous owner has any kind of right to.

I have to agree with jay, they must have been happy with what they got for it or they would not have sold it, also theres loads of stuff on here thats not exactly a bargain its up to personal choice , if its worth it you great if not dont buy its simple

i sold my 1150gs at huge loss, that means that i should share loss wiht last owner

but i think its wrong take advantage someone who selling cheap or gives you discount and then you try get more for it to make fast money

guys
i feel this is not the place to discuss who sold what to who and so on :blagblah
if a seller has issues with a sale, then let them take it up with the buyer. i know frank a good few years and i would not like to see his reputation tarnished.

in my book its simple.

person puts item up for sale....
buyer agrees price or makes offer....
seller either agrees offer or they don't .....
offer accepted deal done.....

deal closed and so should this thread

I have to agree with t900
i dont know frank1200 but he has done no wrong and if he made a proffit so what he was lucky to have got rid of it so fast.
i have bought bikes in the past cleaned them up and sold at small profit for my labour
also i have fixed a couple of 1200's on side of road with my spare parts and not charged for them [mayby i should if yer going to carry on like this.
leave the man alone.

Perhaps you're both missing the point?

T900 is not missing any point as my partner I sold my bike to Frank for a price I wanted I knew it was worth a little more, leaving some scope to sell on if need be. He asked me to drop in price I refused as I knew my bike was worth every cent I was asking for. Deal is done I've no quips with frank I'm glad I didn't drop my price as I did hear it was up for sale shortly after for more but that doesn't mean he got that price. I'm very glad I sold my bike to frank as it saved me advertising it and having people calling to my house.

Perhaps you're both missing the point?

myself and jo was one of the sellers, and i see the point.

if he intentionally set out to get a reduced price being a fellow GSer and intended to sell for profit. then it would be bad form and i would have the hump.

the purchase was made for his mrs and it didn't work out,:nenau
i bought a bike for jo when she started out then sold it to my boss and made a profit. whoops should not have said that as i will be in trouble.

This may sound like i'm making a u turn - but as i know ~Frank and this is directed at him...

Well to sell any bike for a profit in the current climate deserves an award. ...
The saying 'Money has no friends' is the crux of it, in my opinion.
Luke is right and who would not take it if it was offered?
Whether there's a moral 'right' to profit share with the previous owner ... :nenau
totally dependent on circumstances of original sale.
... PS...... But I also agree that it would be wrong to take "advantage" of a fellow member here if that happened. We still have no proof.
"Taking advantage" - if that is the case, is wrong and naturally upsets us all.
But proof - we have none.
So,
for my own post - i apologise to Frank. it was assumption. Written when i should have just read and waited. I have found Frank to be straight, even blunt - but certainly not a man i'd think of in the same sentence as 'false pretences'.

for the benefit of the forum readers, can you say who or what made you put this thread up as you where not involved in any the circumstances ?:nenau

There is a member in the Irish section who has bought 2 bikes for his wife recently from members he knows

Right or wrong?

Don't post a lot on here but felt I needed to this time.

The deals were between the sellers and buyer, it's their business and nobody else's.
Not meant as a cheeky answer, just an opinion.:)

I can't see its got fuck all to do with anyone else.
Seller got the price they wanted, what the new owner does with the bike is upto them.

During a recent discussion on a set of circumstances, differing opinions were expressed.

I threw that discussion, including my opinion, to the floor for further discussion, naming nobody. :nenau

reality is market is in shote now anyway

so anyone trying make fast money is not going get much profit

the money someone make is more than we all on here spend on panniers, new helmets etc and uselessitems makebiek look Adventurised.

so it is bad form if the intentionally tried get low price just to resell.

but could be geniune and anyway we dont know full story

as many know from bogroast i am buying a mates bikes off him cheap. but after a service, clean and tidy, new tyres etc i be lucky get money back market is gone that bad so anyone who who gets good deal is not going make much moneyy

if they got in or around asking price then they do well to add 100e or maybe 200e extre on it

Reads a lot different to your first post Jim any chance you can name and shame

There is a member in the Irish section who has bought 2 bikes for his wife recently from members he knows personally on here, gotten a tossers favourable price and sold them on in a few days at a profit.

My objection is that he lied to use the camraderie (choose your own word) of this site to get a "discount", then pocketed the discount immediately.
If he'd been honest, he wouldn't have gotten the discount in at least one case. I know this person is fuming over it.

Right or wrong?

aye jealousy can be a terrible emotion to deal with :green gri

It reads, Frank, exactly as my first post, where I asked a question, voiced an opinion, named or shamed nobody and my position is unchanged.
