Are these unobtanium or something? Are they a standard size I can buy over here or are they special in some way?

Well they're nicely cup shaped and hardened to fit the push rod. I'll be very surprised if you can buy one from a nut and bolt supplier..

The hardening will be totally different to a standard bolt as they aren't hardened for tensile strength, they'll be specifically case hardened so as not to wear.

If new ones are too expensive, have a look at picking up some used ones
