Hi

Can anyone help?

I purchases a wirless router and everything was good. The PC and two laptops ran off it. But now the PC will not connect and yet the Laptops are fine.
The PC is close by so it's not a signal problem.
The thing is the PC DID WORK AT FIRST?

I put the software through the PC again and it came up with.

THE YELLOW EARTHENET CABLE ISN'T FIRMLY CONNECTED AT BOTH ENDS...........Well i thought that was just for broadband and it can't be connected in the socket in the wall anyway and being 'Wireless'?

THE MODEM ROUTER IS NOT CONNECTED?

Well if it means the router it is or why would i be typing this to you on the laptop?

i thought it might be the 'Firewall' ( AVG) but going through the reload process it said there were no problems with any firewall and after all i have AVG on the laptops/

Anyone help please

Thanks

Banger, the 'ethernet cable' connects the 'Router' to the 'PC' it doesn't connect to a 'Wall' by which I assume you mean the BT socket, the cable that connects there is the DSL cable.

Not many people run their Desktops wirelessly so if you didn't set the system up yourself it would be worth checking all the cables are where they should be.

The software is expecting you to connect the PC to the router using the yellow cable plugged into the router and the PC. It appears that the software will not work using the wireless connection.

In reloading the software you probably caused the PC to loose the security key that it needed to make the wireless link.

When you first set up a wireless network you normally have to set it up initially using an ethernet cable between the router and the PC. This is the cable it's asking you to connect.
