RPM Limit?!

Accelerating on a sliproad onto the motorway it just so happened that I pushed it over the red line; it felt like the engine was running out of power - has it got a limiter that prevents it from revving over and above a certain rpm?

anyhow, everything seems fine - just got me worried for a second...

Yes, it has an ignition cut-out to stop you being a very silly boy...
