RPM Needle stuck

Howdy,

My 2000 1150's RPM needle is stuck at about 2500 rpm. Anyone ever take the rpm guage apart or have a quick fix for this? The BMW manual I have on pdf shows you how to remove the unit but not disassemble it.
It is stuck with the ignition on or off,engine running or not.

The tacho seems to be a sealed unit and i've been unable to take it apart.
I'm just about to return a good,used tacho back to Motorworks for credit.Diagnostic use only and working OK,so if you need to replace,PM me.
