Ok, I've done the valve adjustment about 4 times in all, but this time that ferkin bung Must have age hardened, almost lost it in the hole Then it almost disappeared in between the fins

Doesn't help as I have H & B bars, how much water or shite is liable to get in there if it's left off?

You must separate the engine and transmission immediately or untold harm will result, or you can do nothing at all

I'll vote for that-much easier than trying to view timing marks

There is also the lining up the marks on the cam sprockets horizontally method.

But none of this helps me with how to put the ferkin' bung back in does it?

sell the bike quick and make sure it's dark when they look at it and get the cash straight away. Then move.

That hole is approx half inch across, about two thirds of the way up the engine case.

If you worry about shite getting into that sized opening, your not going to sleep thinking about the huge opening under the starter motor.

If you havent taken my excellent advice and flogged it, stick a bit of duct tape over the hole, be a good mod wont come off and will come of with ease when you need to.
