Hi!
Any way to run the R1200GS RepRom (CD) from Hard Drive or USB stick?
I cannot see the actual files on the cd, only one icon.
??

My REPROM didn't come direct from BMW if you follow the euphemism (have a look at http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp if yours ever wears out). If I open my DVD drive with the reprom disc in I can see a collection of files and folders. I tried copying everything on the disc (claims about 95megabytes but turned out to be about 415 MB) to an SD card which, when plugged in to the computer, starts reprom up identically to inserting the dvd. Copying the contents of the disc to a folder on a hard drive is equally possible. To run it, click on reprom.exe and it runs. It is possible, although I can't remember how, to put a shortcut to reprom.exe into the start menu. I'm using Windows Vista but XP should be very similar.

Thanks, Sounds like a job for Super-broadband-man!

If this works, next we need to see how to get it to work on the Zumo 550 !

Hi,

Tried to download -too big.

Anyhow, tried again to copy to my HDD, and it worked fine. Must have been something I did wrong before. All is well that ends well, eh whats that burning smell....

I've tried a couple of times to get my copy onto the HDD. No joy, as there appears to be thousands of directories that just bog the process down. Didn't want to fek my HDD so gave in after an hour of generating directories. The USB stick approach looks promising. I'm already on my second copy o the REPROM as I left my last copy in my bike bag and the vibrations killed it!
