Rusty Fixings?

I have just purchased a R1200GS (54 Plate) and collect it on Saturday.

The bike needs a bit of TLC especially a lot of fixings need replacing as they are rusty so i am gonna put stainless steel in and the front engine cover is very scabby, so needs repaint or replacing etc....

The bike has probably not been kept that well in my opinion but i paid the right money to spend a bit on it to bring it back to scratch..

Is the rusty bits the norm for BMW and any recommendations for parts?

All metal will deteriorate with time. ACF50 hinders the process ,but you have to be pretty anal to stop wear and tear showing on a bike especially if its not garaged all year round. Enjoy riding it!!

Fuel Pump Controller and Final Drive.... known weak points i believe..Search in the 1200 section and you will be enlightened......
