Don't you just love 'em

This rut was so deep my bike was wedged and I burnt the clutch out

Lesson 2 was not really an option

There used to be a track just south of here with really deep ruts, and when i first started green laning i used to see the "bike" track between the two ruts and marvel at the skill of the riders that could follow it without dropping into the ruts.

I tried and tried to stay on the little track with varied success, especially as the other riders had managed to follow it even over some real dodgy cambers, it was a while before i realised that it was a mark caused by the diff cases of the farmers 4x4

alternatively ride along the grass beside the rut

or go around on the tarmac

easy stand on the pegs weight right back and look where you aim to go NOT at the rut.......gass it on hard

It's always easier to jump off a moving motorcycle if you're already standing up on the pegs

Did somebody say RUT's...something a bit common where I am and a may be why I struggled a little with the GS (excuses, excuses )

pick the deepest rut then all you have to do is let the cylinders act as a pair of stabilisers....
