Can anyone recommend any good routes in the area of Strasbourg Saarbrucken and Nancy for a day out?

Last May I had a tour into the Black Forest, with a 2 day off motorway trip there. This was the day 2 Map

We ended up staying in Nancy, not Neufchateau, but followed the rest of the route through the Voges and into the Black Forest. You could loop back via Baden Baden into the northern Vosges.

I hear Luxembourg is good too, not ridden it yet.

To the East of Saarbrucken is the Pfalz region - a wine region and also in earlier times, the main shoe manufacturing area of Germany. Can't give you any specific route(s) because I have family living in the area and when visiting generally just pick a sporadic route that takes me roughly in the general direction where I am hoping to end up. To this end I also have the GPS turned off so haven't even got any track logs.
Anyway, the long and the short of it is - this region is great for riding. Study the map, plan a route (any old route around the area you won't be disappointed) and let what comes be a surprise.

The Vosges region just to the south of Strasbourg has some cracking roads, especially the Route des Cretes :thumb2

Cheers guys. Some pointers to investigate.

I am staying at Two Wheel Moorings next week and have planned to ride around the Ardennes area. Going south is a backup in case the weather is bad up North and better down south. :beerjug:
