dear all
just been in a fairly severe but short downpore with my new Santiago pants (great quality material) with goretex liner BUT..low and behold they leaked (not massively but significantly) around the crouch - urrr ooh err. I am going to take them back but I am Very Dissapointed, can anyone suggest an alternative, in the BMW range, that is genuinely waterproof -100% or have I just been unlucky with this pair?

By the way the jacket I was wearing was the Hein Gericke cruise and although the outer material is not as robust as the BMW kit it was 100% reliable and warm.

any advice greatly appreciated

Buy the matching Gericke pants and save a few ££'s :thumb
I like the look of the Gericke Cruise jacket,it's had good reviews in the comics too,the successor to the ever poular and now discontinued Tuareg? Possibly

I think you've just been unlucky as normally the Santiago (and it's predecessor, the Savanna) goretex liners do the job superbly if kept clean. If you like the trousers in every other way I'd be inclined to get the liner replaced under warranty and give them another try.

Alternatively there is the Streetguard II trousers which are great, goretex laminate material with a removable thermal liner but a bit of a different beast to the Santiago - depends what you need besides being waterproof.
