Guys,
I've just bought an R1200GS TE - 2017 model - it's got the BMW lockable nav mount and wheel thingy but no nav device.
See pic below - I think this mount is for a Nav 6 but can someone confirm please ? The mount has no buttons.

My old Zumo 660 fitted on & powers up with the bike, but now I can't get it off ! It was a tight fit but any clues on how to release it ? The release button on the side won't press in.

So, if the mount is a Nav 6 mount, can I use a Nav 5 in it and get all the thumb-wheel functions ? I realise the Nav 5 mount has extra buttons on the left hand side.

One of my needs is a clear, central & big digital speedo display - can I get this with a Nav 5 ?

I know I could buy a Nav 6 but that's over my budget at present, and there are a few used Nav 5 out there at affordable prices.

All ideas welcome - thanks :thumby:

You need to turn the key in the slot, then pull the latch behind the mount towards you, and then you can hopefully press the release button on the other side, hoping it is not jammed

Or use a crowbar! :D

As Smogbob says, I always forget whether its locked or not, so remember HUL.....horizontal (key position) is UnLocked

Cheers Ali

This. ^^^

Pull the latch behind the left side, then press the release button on the right side.

Putting the satnav in, pull the latch on the left, snap the device in, the push the LH latch in. Turn the key and withdraw.

Thanks for all the helpful comments.
I've got the 660 off the mount now & in the process of buying an Nav 5 off this site.
