Just bought a Scala G9X single unit. Thought that I would make the big cross over from my Autocom pro logic.......Think I made a mistake. I have a Zumo 550 and a iphone 5s. Everything pairs up as it should, both icons are showing on the zumo, i.e. the phone and headset icons which is saying that the phone and scala have paired to the Zumo. hers the problem, although I can hear music from the scala's fm radio and receive and make calls using the iphone through the zumo and scala, I cannot hear any navigational info from the Zumo or music that is on the Zumos SD card. I have reset the scala and also tried every which way of pairing each device to each other. Am I not doing something or is this just a crock of shit and I should have kept using the Autocom. Any help i:nenaus much appreciated.

Scala problem

Been doing a bit of searching on this forum and it appears that you cannot connect the scala, iphone and zumo togeteher but only one of the units, either iphone or Zumo will work at any one time. It seems that if you connect all three and expect to be able to take calls on the iphone and listen to navigational instructions from the Zumo....it doesn't work.
Is this correct or have I not set it up right. ?

I have a G4 and while I don't use the radio function (or listen to music from my iPhone or Zumo), I think the sequence for connecting the various devices is key: phone to Zumo and then Zumo to G4.

+1
With most Bluetooth headsets and zumo 550 you cannot have both phone and Zumo connected to a bt headset as they will compete against each other. Pair your phone to your Zumo and then disconnect your phone to your Scala. You then get the benefit of using your Zumo screen to control your phone and call addresses poi's on the Zumo too. I apreciate you will only be able to play music on the zumo (which if recall correctly is only mono). If you want stereo music from your phone you will need to pair it directly to the Scala again. I suspect all this has something to do with bt headsets only having one channel.

This not a Scala issue it i had same issue wth a midland bt2 set and I now use a schuberth C3pro in the same way. I don't listen to music either so never an issue for me.

scala problem

Thanks for the replies. Seems like I can have the scala and Zumo operating the phone but cant use the Scala to give voice instruction or music from the Zumo. I have tried dropping all blue tooth connections from all 3 devices and just pairing the Scala and Zumo to see if I can then get any voice or music from the Zumo,....still no good.
Looks like its off to Fleabay.

I've had a 550/G4 combination in the past and now have a 660/G9/Samsung S3. Both combinations have worked fine when the GX and phone is paired to the Zumo. The music quality from the 550 isn't very good and only dual mono but you should hear something. Music files must be mp3 only. Have you tried storing the mp3's (just a couple) to the internal hard drive of the zumo rather than sd card? Other than that, it just sounds as if the zumo hasn't really paired with the scala - I seem to remember my 550 being a bit quirky getting it to pair but once done it worked fine. Try using the stereo cable to the headset instead just to see if that works.

Scala

Hi Beemerman. The headphone icon shows on the Zumo so I presume that's it has paired, also done the pass key thing. Im begeining to accept that you cant have al of the things, all of the time. Left the Zumo out of it all and just tried using the phone with the Scala, you get navigation through the phones app and the music off the iphone comes over as well. someone said that the Scala cant do 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time I.E., getting instruction for navigation from the Zumo and also getting music or taking calls from the radio. It seems you either get Bluetooth to one or the other.

Not sure that's correct actually. 4 of us have just bought G9Xs for a forthcoming trip. I had a Tomtom Rider 2 connected at the same time as my iPhone 6, with both paired directly to the headset and not each other, and the Rider 2 was giving voice directions over the top of music playing from the iphone...

From what I have read in the manual there are 2 bluetooth channels, hence the 4 way intercom possibilities with the later Cardo BT headsets.
