Scala rider G4 vox sensitivity

Just started using a pair of Scala Rider G4 sets. Very good, excluding FM reception but It's poor in Norfolk lately anyway.

The only issue is that the VOX is a bit too sensitive. Over about 50 mph or in cross winds one or both of the sets is opening up the intercom, meaning that we can both hear the other set's wind and engine noise, even when not speaking.

Any ideas? Is it down to noisy helmets and mic placement? Can't find a way to lower the sensitivity in the manual.

Update:

Found that we weren't on Vox but open channel. What we were getting was just noise pump from the compression software. Works fine now - just have a quick bellow to turn on the Vox if it's really noisy.

Now we've had a thorough test I can really recommend the G4.

Clear to 80 mph, reasonable quality sound and simple controls that are easy to use with gloves. Earplugs no problem. The speakers are nice quality and easy to position. We've got the corded set (no boom mike) for FF helmets.

Weak points are the FM radio and gain on the MP3 input. Admittedly, FM receptionround here has become progressivly poorer for the last year. I have a suspicion that the transmitters are being reduced to encourage us to go for the digital option. Will see how it goes when we are touring.

iPod output is enough to get a reasonable volume for listening without earplugs at up to 40 but isn't enough for faster riding. Have tried a Fiio but more signal needed. May make something myself if I get the inclination.

i'll cross the filo off my list then...........i was looking at an amplirider, but may have ago myself at making a mini amp. maplins do a stereo kit that may work. those zumo's just dont seem loud enough.
