I've recently bought a new C3 lid and have been searching high and low for instructions on how to fit an Autocom headset to it with negative results.:nenau

Anybody here managed it yet?

Would love to hear about it.

I forgot to mention, I don't need to fit speakers as I've got in ear moulded monitors.

Cheers

Cheers.

I've had a reply from Schuberth in Germany and they state :

"The Autocom can not install in a Schuberth C3 helmet.
The Schuberth helmets, according to the European ECE R22-05. When installing the Autocom be changes in the helmet made, and thus loses its validity admission."

Just for peoples info.

Same as any Schuberth helmet sold really you change the original spec and your warranty goes straight out of the window. But our headsets can be fitted inside them not to put people off them.

I need a boom mike for my new C2. would be nice if you could fine a dealer who could supply and fit - most Ive met are just box shifters :nenau. Very pleased with all the Autocom gear I've bought over the years but it's a long ride to their HQ

Thats the thing mate not all of our dealers fit helmets as we never push for this and some would not touch a Schuberth at all due to the brand of helmet even tho they are not a hard helmet to fit even with our guides.

If you dont mind sending the helmet over to me mate I could fit it for you or are you likely to be going to the NEC, if so pop over and see me.

Just took out the Autocom super pro avi headset from my Raid II, and installed it in the new C3. Easy job - took all of 10 minutes. Much easier than putting it into the Shoei, which became very tight with the speakers.

The C3 has indents which are just the right size for the headset speakers. They even sit in a pocket, and don't need velcro. Just unpop the cheek piece to slip the mic through, and attach the noise cancelling mic, and it's all done.

Any pictures of the process? I got the C3 my self.:thumb2
Have been told that the new BMW communication system (designed for the system 5/6 helmet) also fits the C3. Dealers here in Denmark even offers to build in:)

Hello from a new member!
I got my new C3 helmet and want to build in an autocom Active-Plus Kit 200. I have noticed that fitting the speakers is very easy but how to mount the microphone in that new helmet?

Chris, could you please tell me how you fixed the boom micro in the C3?
Thanks for your help.

Bernd

When we fit the C3's I fit the main wiring loom into the cut out where the cheek straps run from the inner shell of the helmet. I then use a strip of self adhesive velcro over the loom to hold this in place. I then fit the boom so it runs up over it making sure the press stud popper hole does not get covered or interfears with the pad being press back in place. Again we use strips of velcro to hold the boom down in place.

Thanks Rich,
do you have a photo or sketch available showing the mounting position of the boom?

Bernd
