Scorpion trail 2

On my 3rd set of PST2's. Used for two trips in Spain, a few days riding in high 30's without problems. The fronts do wear about the same rate as the rears and I change together. Touring I get around 5,000 miles a set (on a GS twin cam). I am a not a high speed rider, but do enjoy corners. They are the best all round tyre I have tried to date.

Hi Stick,I've had them on my GS.There a very hard sidewall tyre very similar to the Tourance Next as there the same manufactuer in Pirelli.I know the Next is Metzler but Pirelli are the holding company.
You can feel everybit of gravel and underlation imho.I prefer the Conti's at present TA3

Nov 2019 Ride magazine had a big tyre test. 1st= PST2 , 2nd= CTA3

The other way round for me, the TA3 feel like they are over inflated and the ST2 feels flexible.
If you want to try a hard sidewall give the Dunlop trailsmart a go.

Got them on mine, so will try them out at the weekend. :D

Off post I know , if you have or can , get rid of the cat, makes a huge difference to a Ducati

I’d like to get the Akra ti headers, but they’re quite a way down the list of priorities at the moment.

Had a set on my alloys after having the str rallyes on my spokes and the strs are so good I didn't notice much difference in grip levels changing to the trail 2s but they are quieter. The STRS are now my road tyres and I have gone to the full rally's for off road use. If you only ride on the road the trail 2s are ideal.

It's uncanny how much grip those STR's give on the street for a blocky tyre (even in the wet)

Yes they are awesome tyres, they ride as good as any street tyre I've used and not bad off road, like you say the wet weather performance is staggering, yet to use the full rally's yet either on or off road.

I wish i was more in touch with my bike and its tyres ,I can only tell the difference when they start to square off !

I love them. Brilliant in the dry and brilliant in the wet. I get excellent mileage and i can honestly say ill never look for another brand set as long as these are being sold!

I priced a set of Scorpion Trail II for my Crosstourer today.......about 25 dearer than the Michelin Road 5 and about 50 dearer than either Dunlop Trailsmart or Roadsmart......what does one do??

Go somewhere else, Tyreleader has PST2 £10.00 cheaper than a PR5 for a 120/70.

I know......

We are in a different market over here but I would have expected Pirelli to be cheaper than Michelin and I don't particularly want the Michelin anyway.

Would love to try the Conti TA3 but they are really difficult to get over here.
