Scratched my metal panniers

That's the spirit !

:thumb2

Once copied never deleted/amended...... stick to your original post..... much more fun then justification!

(Sorry about your scratch.... always a bugger the first time you damage something new.....oh, and i'm not taking the piss!)

I had to change it because it ended up under the wrong posting.

I actually belong to the BMW owners club, a C1 Forum, Motorcycle Action Group and Wey Valley Advanced Mototcyclists. I also bump into and chat to many owners during my (many) visits to my favorite dealer Vines.

I never experience the small minded and frankly childish hostility that I experience here in any of the other clubs.

I'm sure that people are buying BMWs now that I would prefer had stayed on their R1s, Blades etc.

Thank you for your helpful reply, sadly in the minority.

What will end up happening is that many people will read but not be prepared to post an opinion on this Forum. That will greatly diminish the Forum and , ulimately, it's not the Tossers but the c**ts who have won.

I should have left Fuck Off where it was.

And long may it continue, it makes this place what it is. As you say there are plenty of other 'clubs' to spend time with so it's no great loss if peeps don't like it here and move on.

Also, as I'm sure you appreciate, some of those guilty of being the most 'childish' on here are also those that contribute the most to the 'club' and are the first to offer assistance/advice on here when asked for.

To be fair, your OP was just an observation, not a tech query so what did you expect, it's all just banter at the end of the day :)

PS ukGSer IS NOT A FECKING CLUB!!!!!

Motorcyclists are supposed to be friendly and helpful.

Do you guys really get off on being like this to each other?

What a total waste of space this place is.

No it's just you..................posting about a bit of twig that has market, but not scratched your pannier...................as said a bit of a Mary (ann)

We all get along fine, come a UKGSER event and join in

Well £1,500 worth of camera equipment and £700 phone just for starters, plus when I park I can stash my crash helmet in them.

I actually never take the panniers off either bike and yes, they are a pain filtering.

They also help protect the rear of the bike if it goes over (one day it will).

What a joyous place this Forum is - I now need permission to ride with panniers on?

Can you give me the registration number of your bike and the places that you normally park it?

P.S. I ride with my panniers on all the time too - but they are the plastic ones so I don't have to worry about dents - if the ally cover gets scratched it can be replaced quite easily and cheaply.

I have every sympathy with the OP.

He has a 1200 Twipple Bwack. That magnifies the pain. Just imagine, the panniers could have been attached to a vanilla 1200 GS, in which case it would have just been bad but not life threatening. A Twiipple Bwack on the other hand is, well, I hardly know the words to describe it. The only thing worse (other than a paper cut, the most painful thing on earth) is have it happening to an 'Anniversay Edition', the physical and mental anguish from which is beyond imagination.

I would like to apologise to the OP on behalf of all brother bikers. I feel your pain. Ride safe, ride proud and above all..... Get off your high and over sensitive horse, stur your fat arse into action and trim yer fecking hedge!

Can anyone else get that? that slight whiff of ............................. sarcasm? :blast

!

That's not always true, I have one of the mentioned Analversary models, and my panniers look like they took part in the Battle of Kursk and had a few direct hit's from a Tigers 88 main gun. I think it adds a bit of character, and gives my daughter more things to put flowery pink stickers on :) Mine looks like a homo hippy charabanc. I am a bit "retentive" when it comes to cleaning, but other than that, panniers are for lugging kit and bumping around a bit.

I did Plastidip them, but my son got a bit bored on the autobahn heading from Rotterdam to Berlin, so he peeled it off on the way, I then had a rather fetching urban(ish) camo look to them then, and looked really hip and down with the kids.

Ah bless you all.
I came home from work feeling a bit miserable but after cracking open a can of ale and reading this thread I have had a good chuckle and feel much better. Probably because I don't own any panniers which likely means I cannot even start to understand your pain!

The rear facing camera is the winner so far for me :clap

I do feel Mr Mad accountant that you should seriously consider investing a gortex and nuclear fallout-proof twat suit with a fully integrated phone pocket to protect your telephonic investments :augie

I bet you wished you never started this thread now!

We feel your pain but fancy a cheap laugh at your great expense mate :thumb2

My good night - a little mark on a pannier and it runs to 8 pages !!

wht happens if he has a speck of dust on that cammera gear or a finger mark on that screen??
£700 for a phone - must mean £50 a month to EE

"Mad Accountant" - too right!!

Sensible choice:thumby:

Give the guy a break and sympathise with him a little and try to think of it a bit like treading in dog shit in a pair of new shoes !!
