Just got my 1200gs a week or so ago and it's a great bike apart from one main thing. That is the amount of wind noise and buffeting that I get. I'm 6'2" and I've tried the screen in all in position and it seems to make no difference.

What should I do????????

Also I need a hugger the Bmw dealer tried to charge me £250 for one that didn't look that good.

Otherwise the bike seems to be great ( could do with longer gearing and another 30bhp though ):D

I`m 6`6" & sadly the wind noise is bad on these bikes :( but I`ve fitted some of them Tobinators & a Laminar lip & I must say they do reduce the noise & buffeting quite a bit. No miracle cure of silent riding but a difference all the same.

As for the huggers the general opinion is that the Motorrad Concepts one is the best but there are cheaper & more expensive ones out there. Keep an eye on ebay as there seems to be a few surfacing recently

Hope this helps :thumb

I agree that if you're above "average" height, you'll suffer wind noise and buffeting. I am 6'5" and have fitted a Secdem screen and tobinators, and the bike is heaps better for it.
If you decide to go for a Secdem screen, I have got a brand new one, still in the box, in light smoked colour. This is due to the French postal strike. The one they originally posted got caught up in the strike. They couriered a replacement, and then the posted one arrived. I have asked them to send me the 20 quid it would cost to post it back, and I've had zero response. If you're interested, let me know.

Hi Martin,

I am interested in the secdem screen as the standard screen with tobinators is still causing problems with my pillion. I can't send PM so please email me on [email protected] with the screen details and a price.
