Hi Boys and girls, can any body please point me in the best direction for a replacement screen for my 2023 F750GS. It came out the factory with the “sports screen” but I would much prefer something a little taller that gives more protection. I understand there’s a magnitude of screens to fit this bike available, but being vertically challenged at 5’8” I need a different one to the one that is fitted at present.

Bmw parts or Wunderlich nippy Norman’s you will find loads available
Cheers MRDDD, I was kinda hoping somebody the similar height to me might suggest a screen that works for them. I don’t want something that’s tall and I end up having to look through the screen if you get my drift🤔

Thanks Steve, if you get a chance I would appreciate it. Like previously said, it is a minefield out there. The silly little “sports” screen the bike left the factory with, is in my opinion way too small to be effective.

Alistair,
These are the measurements from my screen mounting bracket. If these figures match your screen mounting screws, give or take due to the screen shape, the screen will not fit yours.

Steve

Evening Steve, thanks for the dim’s. I will have a look at the bracket on my bike in the morning and go from there.
Cheers
Alistair

Good morning Steve, I have measured my screen to mount dims. They are: top horizontal centre to centre = 16.5. Diagonal =18.5 Too to bottom = 11.5cm looking like your dims are a fair bit bigger than mine🤔

I used the Puig screen on mine initially nice quality but it was a bit turbulent. I'm the same height as you but I have stupidly short legs and a long body. Eventually changed to the MRA screen with the adjustable deflector and it was fantastic, would highly recommend.

The screen was still on the bike when I sold it (as I couldn't find the original) but I still have a load of bits - tank bag, engine bars, pannier rack, rear hugger, Hexcan etc etc. Feel free to drop me a PM if you need anything

Greetings Squonk, thats great information and just the info I am looking for. I had a Puig tall touring screen on my XR and it worked well on that bike. I well be interested in some of your F750Gs bits, just got to figure out how to send DM’s. 🤔

You need to be a subscriber to use DM's I think ... it's only a tenner, worth it.

Absolutely, I’ve searched and came to the same conclusion. Will get it sorted when I’m back off hols😎

You need to change the OEM screen holder/bracket to the ‘long’ bracket in order to use bigger aftermarket screens. Some aftermarket screens come with additional mounts for your OEM bracket, but most require the long bracket.

Puig touring screens for example are sold as “option A” or “option B”. Option A comes with mounting brackets that will fit your short holder.

As you can guess I’ve had the same dilemma with my 800GS - I managed to get a long bracket on EBay and have fitted the OEM BMW touring screen. Even then I needed to add a deflector to it to stop noise/buffeting.

Hello mort77uk, thank you. I have just been looking on Puig’s site and seen the info you describe. Although my screen is “option A”, my OEM screen doesn’t match the sizes stated on the Puig site. That looks like the sort of thing I am looking for.👍

You could also try AliExpress - some of the screens on there have the appropriate brackets included.

Just to add - the Puig screen doesn’t match your OEM because it includes new brackets, that why it’s more expensive than Option B which is just for the screen.

went for a ride after moving the screen to the high position... I could not believe the noise levels. in the end it was unbelievably loud unless set to the lowest setting, where I thought it was just bearable... 25 miles into a ride on a boring bit of empty motorway at 70mph - I sat there and thought must to slow down this racket is causing incredible hearing damage (riding with ear plugs)

I have three GS'

an old 2007 GS modified with decent shocks, fork brace, road tyres, fuelling tweaked, racing pads, the monster extra tall Ztechnic screen, and its OEM brake and clutch levers which are the best shape in the world of any manufacturer - its the best bike I own but so far its not funny

a mint 2011 GSA with the terrible OEM screen (wind noise and buffeting at 35 mph and above that just isn't there on the Ztechnic screen - even at 90 mph (both air cooled one running the adventure seat), whislt the brake and clutch levers look the same as the older bike they are a disgusting backwards step from the original GS ones - the Twin cam engine is nasty, throttle stiffer, ESA a joke, later gearbox is nastier - thus I've always hated every second of its ownership

sept 25 built 24k 1300 with Sport suspension - currently hating it - fuelling is worse than the old GS I moan about incessantly, the seat is god awful, the screen is a disaster, the brakes don't work, the gearbox needs 6 people to help move the gear lever, enduro levers are useless, but possibly better than the really nasty uncomfortable shape the std ones get , and the radar cruise when set to ride up people's arse, brakes heavily when still 75m away from a sensible distance behind - I've had a BM car with this system and its Min distance its easily more than 50m closer than this stupid thing allows - I guess some retard limp wrist development rider though it was sensible - its so bad I gave up using cruise on the way back

why does the gearbox and the brake/clutch levers have to go backwards a long way each time they design a new model - these idiots need to get an old GS out and see how much better they were?

and as for the screen - trouble is a can't help thinking the R1300GS Ztechnik big screen is going to be far too small and the mounts not strong enough to cope ?
