Does anyone know whare the fuse for the fag lighter is? I have tried all the fuses under the dash the list says 8 & 10 not so I have tried all the fuses none blown there is no juice at the socket and I got behind and the wire is dead any help? There are 3 fuses under the bonnet all ok JJH

Mastermind

Is this question something along the lines of Aidans where am I , except for mechanically/electrically minded boffins?
On a more serious note, open the drivers door and see I'd there is an access panel at the end I'd the dash. The Vw/skoda family have theirs there.

Have done that all fuses are good JJH

In the socket itself the metal tangs that make the connection sometimes get bent back and don't touch the plug.

Check if there's an in-line fuse on the on the 12v socket

If you have a multimeter check the negative hasn't gone open circuit

Make sure the ignition is on when checking for a 12V+ at the socket.

Give up the fag's

Buy a box of matches

If it's driving you mad and your passing call in and I'll see if I can help ya.

Have been to back of socket wire is dead socket is sabost to work with igniton off. Something did blow a piece of metal fell down and it sparked and blew. I have owners hand book but the no.s on fuse are wrong. The fuse for the socket in the back is no 10 but that is empty no fuse but the socket is working I don't smoke but I like to charge up the phone I'm charging it in the boot at the moment. Thanks for all the help. JJH

Nip down to your local motor factors and buy a replacement cigar lighter with an inline fuse. Wire it direct to the battery-Job is oxo.
