Seat foam bumps 2014 GSA

It would be a lot easier if the manufacturer of the seat had not tried to plastic weld the two pieces together and simply stitched them like on other models. Maybe that will eventually be their solution? :augie

Been down to my dealer. Asked to have it sorted. A couple of pictures taken.

Now I await the manufacturers reply.

My guess is new seat.

I guess the way I look at it is simple. If the seat looks like it does now after 1500 mi what will it look like after 15000 mi?

I'm now on my 3rd set and the bumps have appeared on the latest ones too I give up, think I shall wait a couple of months and hopefully by then they will have sorted it.

Terry

You know you're meant to sit on the seat, not the handlebars?:P You may be facing the wrong way while riding, which is why you keep looking at the seat!:D

I must have a very special LC as my seat hump has disappeared

Was on the rear seat, never sat on but it's not there now :nenau

Self fixing LC GSA :beerjug: :D

Looking at the seats on every other motorcycle out there old or new the seats look fine, this latest carnation of GSA seats are shite. It's not the fact I notice the bumps it's the fact they are there atall it seems these days you pay for the name and not the expected quality.

Does it really bother you?

For most WC GSA owners I know, it's a non event, not worthy of discussion

:)

We'll this is my 4th GS and the seat is by far the most comfy yet. The GSA has additional gel and it's noticeable. :thumb2

I have to say that i have been looking to chop in the GSA TC for a GSA LC....but can't bring myself to do it...it certainly rides better and the motor is clearly a major step forward BUT it just looks like it is built down to a price.

Now i know everything is but this is about relative value and the quality just doesn't "look" to represent the price charged....so haven't changed. Dynamically a great bike..no doubt but unlike my TC i would just be disappointed every time i clapped eyes on it. Now my TC is not paragon of virtue but it feels and looks better built

The tank panels are poor quality and creak and move around, the plastic grill inserts look like the same quality as something out of a Christmas cracker....the black plastics are thin and scratchy and how they can charge what they do for the piece of shite they call a screen heaven alone knows and the seats clearly have a quality issue.

If I owned the bike and paid £16-18K (still can't believe a bike cost that much) I would expect it to be perfect and can absolutely understand why people would be pissed off.

Quality and value are subjective i know but it looks to me as if BMW have taken a step backwards...a real shame for what is otherwise an awesome bike which will no doubt sell by the bucket load.

Well said just about sums it up really, and not just BMW either it seems a lot of manufactures are resting on there previous good names.
I still love the bike but some of the parts could do with being better.

That's a shame you feel like that. I've had three twin cam 1200's, and two LC's. As someone that likes to keep my bikes clean, I've obviously spent a lot of time "up close" to all my bikes, and have noticed that the build quality on the latest bike is certainly as good, if not better than the TC.

As for the creaking panels, are you sure the creaks were coming from the bike?:aidan

Cant be bothered to read all thE posts but I can tell you Alan Jefferies did my 6K service last week on "Olive" Bless and they found seat bumps it was all sorted :-) Also my pal Tosser Saw had his 6K yesterday and again all sorted its all to do with the overlocking stitching being the wrong way round they just turn it inwards and jobs a good un! Mick's was done without even him knowing! Top marks to AJ's.
