Seat grief … help!

Ok in advance please forgive the stupid nature of the question.

After taking off the main seat, I have real grief getting the thing back on again without one of the front spurs not locating .

It’s not sometimes until the back is locked down you realise that it’s not in right.

I know it’s and odd one to explain but any tips would save my sanity.

Check your tools and tooltray. This can cause problems if sticking up too high.

You have no idea how close that is to the actual event..... although I'll leave it till morning encase seat rage rises again.

Hi. Make shure the metal handles who locks the bar, isnt bent towards tach other. They are made of very soft material.

The front slots that accept the crossbar seem to have a replacable/moving tip make sure this is located correctly, also, often when installing the seat its very easy to try and locate the front too low initially, quite often lifting the front slightly helps ease assembly

Take a close look at the tool pack - I had a similar problem to you, and it was caused by the tool roll fouling the base of the seat.

I doubt it'll be the tool kit if you have the standard BMW one being as it's 95% fresh air, 5% worthless metal and skinnier than a BMW salesman's wallet!

After riding around with the right hand front spur with a 1" of play, had another go tonight. After a few more, nay, many attempts it locked into place, with no idea why.

Although the zip pad for the GS tank bag is inside the seat edge, would this have an impact?

Only another 1000's miles before I need to geet to the oil cap remover. Might buy another one to save the greif

I have a Stop & Go plugger under my seat but it is on the high setting. I do need top get my head down and look to make sure the rod locates properly each time.
