bear with me on this one ,
is the standard height seat on a a/c r1200 gs the same height as the gsa model ( I know they fit )
or would they be lower ? , so would a standard height sargent seat from a a/c gs be lower than a standard height sargent seat for a a/c gsa .

Short answer, no. GSA is about 3 ins taller than a standard GS but that's down to suspension. Seats will all fit, but why would you want to use a GSA seat on a GS ?

IIRC the GSA rides 1" higher than the GS. It might be more.

The GSA seat sits the rider about 1 inch higher than a GS seat on the same bike.

I found the GSA seat like a narrow plank and the GS seat while initially much better, had a lump at the back that hit against my sacrum.

In the end I found a used Kahedo seat in standard GS height that suits me well.

The GSA pillion seat is lower than the GS pillion seat. I've had no complaints from either regards comfort (both as bad maybe). However, smaller pillion riders often can't reach the GSA grab rails when they use the GS seat.

I had that same problem which I solved by positioning the seat on the HIGH position at the front and the LOW position at the rear.

Success! and no complaints at all now.....

I did that but IMO gap between seat and tank looked scruffy. I then found the Kahedo at a fair price and sold the GS seat so all good eventually.

Brother has the Kahedo/Touratech GSA height seat. Superbly comfortable but too high for me.

BTW all seat pans look the same OEM (both) and Kahedo so who knows why the OEM GS seat digs into people's spines. Maybe that was another fix on later bikes.
