I've gone back and read the "Ewan" thread now so this makes a little more sense. Wind ups are fine but (and maybe I'm overreacting here) this seemed to go a bit further than a wind up. I dunno where you're all going with this or what was the real "start" but I'll be very disappointed if this just becomes a forum for slagging each other.

a) get more people posting
b) collect insults
c) prove to ones self that this forum can be nasty sometimes?
d) that the guys who own this site can play favourites.
answers a b and c - OK point proven. Point d, well er um that's a no brainer. One of my first for sale posts was deleted because it was not directly GS related. I'm still here trading insults even though I am still PISSED OFF about it, however I can hardly expect for my feelings to taken into account. I am big enough (and certainly ugly enough) to look after myself and after ingratiating myself with folks like Fanum I hope to be treated as impolitely as everyone else.
No one is forcing you to post here, after all. And for the record HG stuff is not real GS'er, Aerostitch is and it is perfectly feasible to ride loads AND post loads.
BTW I am proud to be both a mileage snob AND a season snob and ultimately I do not give two shits what someone thinks of my bike. If they think me a fashion victim then that is their problem. Mind you I was worried about the whole 4x4 thing so I bought a 6x6!
