I find this thread very funny. My friend Roy was going to trade his RT in for the new model. Roy & his missus do a lot of touring on the RT.
He came back from the show room with the K1200s, a pure impulse purchase.
Julia went out for a ride on the K and said you are on you own there mate, I am not getting on tha t bloody bike again !
Roy is now trading in his prized Boxer cup for a 1200 GS so Julia will have something suitable for touring !

The K1200S for touring ???
I hope that your wife is not too large and that you can manage touring with very little luggage. The 'panniers' - if you can call them that - would probably both fit inside one of your (extended) GS panniers. However once we start being logical about motorcycles that will be the end of our fun !
I have to admit that the 1200S in silver is a beautiful little 'bike - I would have one as well as my 1200GS but.............I am past it !
