Serious issue....

Just rode my Bear home from it's first service at GS Motorcycles at Ballymena, 50 + miles of motorway speed.
Got home and noticed really tingly fingers, never had that before.
Trying to figure out what caused it / what is different...I checked the engine oil....



Not a drop !!

Where do I go from here ??

I would reject it, no engine will be the same after 50 miles without oil. It could only be that they've forgotten to fill it up, It's unlikely to have all leaked out of a loose or missing drain plug without noticing, and even if that was the reason, it's still their fault. To be honest it may be possible to fill it up and carry on, but, what's the damage done?

Impressive if it did. But I'm sure he would have checked it right. Unusual for it not to show anything in the glass, not even a sign of oil being there.

Did any oil warning light come up on the dash? Lastly silly question , but on the bill / first service have they listed eg 2.5 lits of xyz oil?

Also as others have said , ring them tomorrow, ask for it to be collected and checked over. Record the engine number if your V5 isnt through. Just in case they say we changed the engine when they haven’t.

I would reject the bike, wouldn't accept a replacement engine if the bike has only done 600 ish miles.

Got home, very bussy fingers... Checked oil none at all. !

Did you drain the sump ?? it may be just below the sightglass

Does it now show in the sightglass ???

It may have just been in the oil cooler and draining down

I think there must be some oil in there. I’m impressed with BMW s build quality and the properties of modern oil but to go 50 miles without oil? JJH
