Serious issue....

@Robbi , " 50 /46 miles at motorway speeds " Tinging hands perhaps caused by lack of movement/ sustained static position. i.e. constant throttle position, no clutch or front brake use ?
NI does not have a stretch of motorway that long 😂

Early sign of a heart attack?
Maybe worth getting your ticker checked out.

A guy in africa cracked the sump on his 2CV and lost all the oil so he stuffed it full of bananas and drove hundreds of miles

I dont know if this adds anything to the conversation
I drove my old 2CV without any oil in after my sump plug fell out. Lord knows how many miles I did, but the engine just got hot and power dropped off, so I stopped and called the AA. The nice man told me I'd probably farked the engine well and truly, but a new plug and new decent oil and it ran - better than ever had before, it was like chalk and cheese - much smoother and peppier. I'm not advocating it as a tuning method though... 🚙🔥

I’m sure Top Gear many years ago drained all the oil out of an Austin 1100 or similar vehicle to see how long it would run. It managed just over 50 miles before the engine started to tighten up.
The 2CV was such a crude, bullet proof engine that would probably run on any oil including cooking oil. I had a 2CV and Dyane 6 and thrashed and abused them but they kept on running.
