Service Costs ?

Gee I thought only Gary Lineker lived in Leics :augie.

Should have been more specific... what is the average price that people are paying for 6k service.... I'm sure Gary would know... but he is probably still eating crisps. Could you ask him if you run into him?

All this talk about Crisps is making me hungary...

Mine's booked in at Alan Jefferies for a 6K + annual service in a couple of weeks and they've quoted £280 (robbing bastards) :tears:mad:

6K service

I got a quote from Lind - Norwich for a 6k service of £210 + vat :eek

Then, when I expressed my suprise they said, well if we don't fit new rocker cover gaskets it'll save you about £35. Less the annual fluids (Brake fluids) they ended up at £190 inc. vat

Now, I was under the impression that the twin cam motor was going to be less expensive to look after. But if these things need the valve clearances checked at every service then I got the wrong end of the stick :nenau

You've got the wrong end of the stick-----

They need looking at -but that doesn't mean they need to be adjusted.

Just had a 12000 mile service on my 1200GS, cost £248.81 inc. vat.
The only item not included in the price was front brake fluid change as this was covered by the recall on brake pipe that needed to be changed.

Free use of load bike for the day included. You see there is a pot of gold at the end of a Rainbow.

charlie brown can you give me the name of this non dealership mechanic wonder pls? By your south london location I assume it is somewhere near? Am happy to travel for good deal. I have 1200 just out of warranty and annual service (abt 13k miles) was quoted gbp250 by vines south london. First service sans warranty so keen to shave some $'s if I can.

If you're in london give steptoe a go.

I feel sorry for the dealer here :D. To keep their franchise they need BMW trained mechanics, BMW special tools, BMW parts etc. etc. - all this has to be paid for somehow.

I used to have a 3 series estate. Found a brilliant independant service centre who was a fraction of the price. He admitted that BMW didn't like trading with him 'cause it upset their franchised dealers - but he bought so much from them they couldn't afford not to.

I suspect loads of guys get their experience in a dealership then leave to set up their own place. Find one and look after him!

Just been quoted £405 for annual and 12,000 mile service by NOX.
This is real trousers down stuff, shurely shome mistake??

R1200GSA First service

Just been told that the first service now costs @ £120.00, is this a new charge, I always thought yhey were free ?

My god the main dealers are going to get their nuts fried in the coming years unless they get competitive.

If you're anywhere near Manch use Jono at the Adventure Bike Warehouse, top bloke and great service and prices, it's a total no brainer after warrantee period :)

Go out and buy yourself a nice British Bike like the 955i Tiger suggest around 11k on the clock then book it in for its next service, apply for loan with the bank while the dealer takes every nut and bolt off changes every fluid drops the engine and gives you the bill

£800.00 :blast:blast:blast:blast

Muther ***** theivin Gits now stop grumbling and pay the nice BMW Dealer his money. :thumb

My first service in April 2010 cost £129.25 + vat = £151.87
Annual service on 3rd May cost £145.24 + vat = £174.29 (3700 miles) so 6k miles next :eek not as bad as the 12 & 24 k's though :blast

Still love it though :D
