I recently had a 6k/annual service completed. The bike now feels gutless at lower revs - yesterday I stalled twice pulling away (the first time I've ever stalled in 3 years of ownership). The bike is very vibey - actually makinging my wrists tingle after half an hour and riding through thick traffic was horrible having to fight the bike with the clutch.

Does any one have any idea what the dealership has done? I've called them and they've agreed to look at it Tuesday but I wouldn't mind a bit of info first

thanks

A really wild card, but have you checked the tps sensor cable fitting? If dislodged the bike will run like a pig. DAHIK.

do a tps reset, ignition on but don't start engine, turn throttle full turn slow full open full closed to the stops do this 3 times, switch off ignition, switch on ignition allow system check lights to go out then start bike and go for a short ride to keep settings,i do this every 250 miles on my bike or there abouts, takes 2 mins and keeps tick over and running nice and smooth:thumb

For the TPS reset, I always understood that you had to disconnect the battery first.

Do you understand the function of the TPS and how it operates ?.

If you did you'd know that the TPS sets itself just by riding the bike. :D

You got access to a GS911? That may give some info. But if it were me I'd be back at the dealer getting them to take it for a test ride. Like they should have done after the service... :blast

I have never really understood this and it never made any difference on my 05 1200 - the manual says to do it IF the battery has been disconnected. So I guess the stored values from the A/D converter that reads the pot angle are lost when the battery is disconnected. These values need to re-established so the procedure does this by re-reading the range of values that the pot produces when the throttle is rotated from fully closed to fully open. I would have thought that a default set of values (how many are there?) would be used when the ECU is reset after re-applying power??????????????????????????????????

did the TPS reset - nada.

Bike still lumpy and lacking power. Tried a top gear roll on at 35 slightly downhill damned near stopped! not at all normal - oh well dealer Tuesday
