Service time

Just for piece of mind, new to me GS1200 will have a full engine service. Didn’t realise I needed four plugs (1150 only had two) looking at the lower plug/coil cover there’s an 8mm or 10mm bolt securing the plastic cover that screws into the engine. Are these prone to rounding off, does one warm the engine up beforehand, close one’s eyes, grit teeth & hope? .
got a few bits from ‘Nippy Norman’s’ website, specialises in BMW apparently, seems an ok website.
appreciate anyone’s thoughts.

I serviced my own hexhead and never had a problem with it. Just use a bit of ‘mechanics feel’ and a good socket it should be fine.

I’m a big fan of Nippy Normans, spent money with them on all three GS‘s that I’ve owned.

Yes they are prone to rounding and snapping. My bike was BMW serviced by it's previous owner and when I got it I went to service it my self and those 3 bolts were seized solid. Plenty of WD40 and slowly screwing in and out I eventually got all 3 out on both side. My advice get down and get copious amounts of WD onto the threads,use the little straw rather than a blanket spray
