Ordered a Streetguard Jacket in March which has eventually now arrived so went to try it yesterday and booked in to get the Shift Assist software update done at the same time.
Definitely an improvement, smoother all round particularly on downshifts with a distinctly different exhaust sound when changing down to 3rd and lower. I still seem to get a bit of an exhaust 'pop' sound and a small jump going up from 1st to 2nd so perhaps I need to refine my timings when to change!!? Overall anyone wondering if they should include this option to their bike I wholeheartedly would say yes, well worth the cost of it.
Bit of an aside, I saw the mechanic 'test ride' it out of the workshop 50 yards or so and park it up. I saw immediately the Auxiliary Lights were not on. When handed the keys back I asked the question if Default Factory Settings would have been restored as part of the update process, quizzed look from reception girl who went and asked the mechanic. He came out and asked what & why I was asking, when I said no Aux lights on now, did you save the personalised settings that were on the bike or have they been restored to Factory Default, (to me that's a yes or no answer?) I was told 'maybe' they have gone back to Factory Default and he went back to the workshop. So annoyingly for me ALL of 'my' individualised settings for Ride Modes, Alarm/Auto Lights/Digital Speedo displayed etc weren't backed up and restored during the update process. I didn't have the Manual on me and couldn't remember all the steps required to adjust them then so left and sorting them out at home later that night. Loss of Brownie Points for the dealer not considering this, though wouldn't you think that the Software Update would do that automatically!?
