So much wrong information....The aircooled R Nine T boxers were EU-3 from 2014-16 and are EU-4 from 2017 on.There are no EU-5 R Nine T bikes and we will see if there will be any from 2021 on.THe EU-3 R Nine T's had a nice sounding backfire and a little stronger mid-range...I had a EU-3 2016 R Nine T myself and compared it to a EU-4 R Nine T Pure.Not too big of a difference though.
As for the EU-4 2017/18 R1200GS they were dogs and felt like the mid-range was missing compared even to the EU-3 2013-2016 EU-3 R1200GS...I hated my 2017 R1200GSA and could not believe how EU-4 had ruined the bike.Now the 1250GS shift-cam is night and day better than even the EU-3 boxers.Real strong mid-range and none of that mechanical clatter sounding like an old slash/five in dire need of valve adjustment sitting at a red light...The 1250 shift-cam is much better than any 1200 boxer air or watercooled.So much TORQUE and much smoother mechanically...
All it needs is another 25 hp on top and it is the perfect motorcycle engine...
But 1200 or 1250 it not even a contest how much smoother and stronger 1250 is...
Faster in roll-on than a 1260MS or 1290 KTM where the old 1200,especially EU-4 sucked only exhaust fumes....
I hope the EU will be history soon and we go back to EU-3 where motorcycles did not did need mechanical wizardry like shift-cam to run strong to appease the sick and twisted bureaucrats and banksters out to make billion$$$ on the C02/man made climate change scheme...The climate always changed long before people lived on this planet or drove cars/motorcycles for the last 50 or so years of mass motorization...
