Isn't it funny how buying stuff for the bike suddenly becomes fully justified once there's a wee trip on the cards? I'm heading to Norway with her inside in July and all of a sudden I've managed to find all sorts of things that I really need. And the funny thing is, not all of them are even specifically for the trip, but somehow they have become a fully justified necessity. New footpegs, rail and bag for the top box, action cam accessories, various gobbins and gadgets. Think I need to stay off the interweb or I won't be able to afford the trip! :)

Gotta love retail therapy all the same.

You’re not wrong. I’ve got a multi week hiking trip coming up starting in June.
I had everything for the trip but found myself needing a new lighter but warmer sleeping bag, a 500 gram Helinox chair, Garmin Inreach gadget plus loads of other ‘lighter than I had’ stuff.

Once I’d bought all of the stuff I found that it left a hole in my day….filled by wondering what I could search for on the internet?

Glad to know it's not just me so! The way things were going, the actual trip was going to be the cheapest part of the process!

My trip is in August

So far i need
New Tyres
New lighter bed
New tag mount
New sleeping bag
New crash helmet
I'll think of more stuff nearer the date lol

Blipper goes in my top jacket pocket or the tankbag.

Don't go wasting valuable beer tokens on crap you don't need.

No, I'm not from Yorkshire before you ask !

Its never failed me from my jacket pocket. Its high enough on my body that it gets detected early riding up to the antenna at the peage barrier. Just look for the flat panel mounted from a pole at a 45 degree angle and get under it.

Don't get a bracket. OJ makes a little bag that you can fix with velcro straps on the bike.
Been using it on the GS for a while now, I just take it off at the end of the day.
Cheap and does what it says on the tin.

I have no arm pockets on my jacket and keeping it on the chest pocket mostly didn't work.

You can find it on eBay.

Didn’t OJ die?

Bet he had a motorway blipper while running away from the police though.

I work on a ‘just in time, on a need only basis’ method.

A week before one trip...I needed panniers
2 days before last trip...I needed boots

I didn’t have any of the above before. There really is something wrong with me :D

More bits arrived in the post yesterday. New NOCO trickle charger for the two bikes (apparently this is trip related :) ), some more bits for the new action cam - screen protectors, nd filters (definitely an 'all the gear, no idea' scenario). Somewhere between China and here there is a container of AliExpress kit with my name on it!
