Some of my collection . Not a classic , more like "grey porridge " in it`s time methinks .
Any guess as to the models behind the Royal Enfield ?

Yes , it`s a 1959 250 SGS .

Perhaps this one is a real " classic "

1927 BSA S27 500 . Rebuilt over the last 4 years & tested at the beginning of September 2007 and now used regularly . It`s surprisingly sprightly with only 3 speeds & a hand throttle .
The brakes are similar to the best ABS money can buy , they are guaranteed not to lock up under any circumstances !

Harry - dunno why your complaining about those brakes - try the brake rim brakes on the model L '25's - wooden block gets pressed gently into a v section secondary rim causing a just discernable reduction in speed!

A few I have owned and some I should have kept

As it says above,
I guess I've owned about 150 bikes in the last 35years, I have a load of photo's ( but no working scanner to digitalise them)
Heres just a few from the last 10yrs.
This does not include the classic cars, classic three wheelers etc I have owned..... ( and restored)
My hobby just sort of took hold!

Some before/ after restoration photo's
Some just as they were:

The Cotton TT Racer was one of 4 built for the 1930 TT this was a spare bike with a fair bit of history ( but the wrong engine) 500cc 3 speed hand change burman gear box ( hence the photo location)
I should have kept it!
It now lives in Swizterland...........
The AJS was a box of bits turned into a 'Concourse de elegans' trials bike
The BSA Empire star was mine for 15 yrs a box of bits to a show prize winner.
