Should you ever need to confirm the calibre of the type who rides Sunbeams, Google my old Biology Professor, Hans Meidner and read an obit. or two.
Top chap and knew how to hold speed in a corner as well.
Can't pass one and not be reminded of him.
What are classics for if they don't give rise the the odd reminiscence.

I googled and the Professor sounds like he was a remarkable man. It must have been a privilege to have known him.

After selling a couple of bikes this year and replacing them with a couple of different machines I didn't intend to buy anything else for a while. Then on Saturday I got chatting to a Gent who had a few bikes in an auction I attended. He had this 1968 P11 as a late entry, a machine that I reckon is one of the most gorgeous M/Cs ever made in Britain. They were built as Desert racers by Norton and most went to America. It's a machine I never thought would come my way as normally this sort of exotica costs a lot more than I would pay. Anyway, to cut a short story shorter, the bike got nowhere reserve during bidding and whilst chatting to the seller afterwards, I made a cheeky-ish offer which he slept on and then accepted. I will sell a couple of bikes I rarely ride in the spring to cover it.
Not being a Desert racer myself, the bike will be used for runs with the local Classic Club and afternoon bimbles around the local back roads.

I went to Moto Pistons again this year Andrew and had a good time but maybe 3 yrs in a row would get a deja vu.
I quite fancy the Sunbeam Rally in August if it doesn't overlap with the family hols. Otherwise I will try a totally new event abroad and do a few weekends around the UK. Your BSA looks great

My fathers MZ Supafive. When he packed in motorcycling I snaffled it and put it in my loft, I was already running one
