I am trying to fit a different silencer to my GSA (2005). (having just fitted a new numberplate, it has started to melt already...no problems as long as I stay under 5000rpm, but where is the fun in that. The remus fitted points directly at the plate, remus pipes I have seen have a bend in the outlet and do not direct hot gases at the numberplate.
The problem is, of course, the clamp bolt is seized solid (loads of penetrating oil on it as I type). Odd thing is my 15mm socket is to big but my 14mm is too small ---so am using a 9/16 imperial socket (which I think is about 14.3mm). This is not a hex socket and so not ideal for a seized nut. Other than getting the angle grinder out, any suggestions?
