My 1150GS clutch has started slipping, in higher gears in particular, it will pull ok an moderate throttle openings, but open up too much it slips...

The bike has done 37,000 miles and has had main dealer servicing to date.

The part that really made me fall of my seat was the potential cost of replacement, the dealer said they would check it out when they service it on Thursday, but if clutch does need replacement, it would be a whole day job with minimum cost of £550...

I think I need a stiff drink :boozer and a bucket of sand to stick my head in.

Btw, dealer is Rainbow in Rotherham, any lower cost suggestions are gratefully received!!

Ta.

£400 of the £550 quote is labour & VAT. Is there not a Northern version of Steptoe  who can carry out the work cheaper?

Thanks Stef, I could give it a go... but I tend to have lots of bits left over when take things to pieces... I guess it would make it lighter though?

Book it in with Steptoe, and make a day of it!
