I need to cover my 1250 GS with top box whilst in the garage. Anyone advise a good fitting light dust cover please?

Cheers

I just drape mine in an old duvet cover. Easy to get on and off, washable and cheap.

I got the Wunderlich indoor cover from Nippy Norman's,
a bit pricey at £139 but fits almost to the floor with tall Puig touring screen on highest setting and top box still on bike, it's soft on the inside, elasticated around front wheel, and shaped to fit a large touring motorcycle.
Caused a bit of a squabble 3 years ago with the wife when I said I wanted one for Christmas and she said "how much" !
She saw sense and eventually complied with the request, knowing it was in her best interest .

Can't go wrong with the Oxford Protex covers, esecially for the price. Nice feel to the material. You'll need a XL, which fits very well. As many reviews suggest, cut the two straps off as they are not needed.

edit - still available direct from Oxford (were 33 quid delivered form sportsbikeshop), might be available for less elsewhere.

I bought one on ebay a few years ago and I still use it over winter in garage, it came from China particularly quickly and was £8

Thanks folks.

Have a few bed sheets already in use on other (smaller) bikes, but really wanted something that was a neat fit so will check these out.

Cheers.

I've just ordered one despite some of the ebay reviews not being so good. I will update in due course as to how good it is etc.

let us know how you get on, for inside a garage use which is what the OP requires I dont see a need to spend much.

I have since commandeered an old bed sheet for the GS. I just want to keep the dust off as it's not moved much in the last few weeks and with working on other bikes in the garage gets a bit dusty.

So, it arrived today and having fitted it onto the bike I can comment as follows:

1. It does not cover the bike as described and shown in the ebay advert. It barely hooks over the front mudguard and at the rear it hooks in under the number plate. Therefore most of the wheels/brakes etc. are exposed. Along the sides it just about hooks under the passenger foot pegs therefore a lot of the lower half of the bike is exposed still.
2. The material is pretty flimsy and is in no way 'waterproof'.
3. The size I ordered was for the GS1200 Adventure and there's no way it fits this bike even if I removed the top box AND it will not fit in any useful way if the panniers are fitted.
4. My screen was in the lowered position.
5. As a dust cover, which is what I needed it for, I guess it does the job at a fair price.

Conclusion.....

As a dust cover for use in the garage... Yes.

For use as a waterproof cover that covers the entire bike... No.

I will be leaving appropriate feedback on ebay.

Sounds a bit like my old bed sheet.. The perils of eBay.
