Coming up to 2 months of ownership of my 2011 Gs and 1200 miles and all is well...I think!

Really getting used to the handling and power of the bike, and had a couple of very nice rides out up around North Yorkshire where I found myself throwing the bike into corners like I never would have on my previous bikes.

Only downside is now my own fault....having read a lot of the forum since I got my first Gs 2 months ago I'm now listening for funny noises constantly....worried there is water in my final drive, concerned my battery will fail suddenly due to some undetectable electrical fault, feeling for rough spots in acceleration......are these bikes money pits?im absolutely glad and relieved I didn't get one with Abs as it's one less thing to worry about :clap

As it is, I'm hoping I should be able to run the bike without much issue between services and going to stop reading about everyone else's problems....not as if I could offer any advice anyway. I'm gonna stick to reading the happy posts about rides out, upgrading parts and so on.

Next service due....in 5 months or 5 k let's hope the bike can get there! As it is 3 year old/18k service I might do the oil and filters myself and try to save a few bob.

Ride it...enjoy it...ride it some more...enjoy it some more :D

Get it regularly serviced & maintained etc

It's easy to get bogged down in the 'scare mongering' stories about this & that......concentrate on the enjoyment side first & deal with faults as they arise....with luck, not many.....:D

My 05 has done 63k if I'd kept on reading all problems doubt I'd ever have brought it lol
Iv serviced most of mine all oils & airfilter only valves & throttle bodies abs the dreaded servo type but if it ain't broke don't fix it all runs fine so not in a rush :)

There are plenty of very happy owners with no troubles - I'm one so as said above just ride it!
