Thanks for sharing that with us Mark, it brought a tear to my glass eye:D

On its day this community is just the best thing ever - look forward to seeing you out and about on the urinal:thumb

Excellent Thread mate...and brilliant photos!

Thank you for the compliments about my tuition...but it was you being such an attentive and good pupil that turned my advice into your quick capability and developing proficiency as a combo pilot.

Blooming well done,and congrats too.

I`m in work at the moment but when I`m home tonight I`ll post my pics showing the world your step by step progross from a VERY apprehensive listener at David Angel`s pep talk ( :eek  :( ) to the first circuits and the final flying of the chair !!

And,finally....yes,a tremendous weekend and it was wonderful meeting you and Pip at long last.

And yeah yeah,I know I`ve copied and pasted my reply from that place across the pond..... :augie

A really good write-up Mark. I had a few good chuckles with that :)

I've been to a few pubs in your neck of the woods when I've been on (beer) training courses at at Wood Norton.

Excellent tale :thumb2 theres nothing like a good introduction from a real enthusiast :thumb2

wish there'd been a Tarka around when i tried a Combo. :(

mind you - even He would probably cringe when confronted with a Jawa 350 and a 'Javelin' chair.
what was i thinking?! :blast
i turned it into a solo after 3 terrifying months, numerous efforts to tame the beast and countless 'laundry problems' - normally as i launched it too fast into a corner. :D

great thread, lovely pics MMC and - fair play to you Tarka. :clap

Top tale, well done to the two of you:clap

Combo's are great fun and are very addictive especially in the colder months, enjoy:thumb2

Heart-warming story, great pics and fantastic effort, both of you! :thumb2

Haven't tried to ride a sidecar since my then boyfriend headed straight into the oncoming traffic after picking up his MZ combo in 1991...

Wishing you lots of fun with your new toy, Mark, the beastie is a real beauty.

Thanks for the post MMC and the great pictures!

I'm going to have to echo the sentiments, I dropped Tarka a few questions about his Guzzi and it ended up being a 30+ minute phone conversation that left me extremely well educated on the subject of registering imported bikes!

Tarka, what did I teach you? Befriend the guy, keep your face out of view, pretend to push the outfit out for a quick photo...then bail on and nail it away !!:blast Simple !!!:augie

Thanks Ela. Of course, chances of you ever seeing it in the metal at a TV do are, er, somewhat slim.

:D

Nice write up and pictures. Brightened up a wet and cold afternoon :thumb2

I've only just seen this post - I must look in the ride reports more often.

Looks like a fun filled weekend, i'll listen out for the traffic reports in the oxford area :D

Nice looking combo and enjoyable report. Is there room in that there side-car for 25 bottles of cask strength whisky then? :thumb

Excellent stuff both. I have a feeling that my next second bike (more dreaming than planning) might be a combo at this rate.
